Why does Texas use more wind energy than solar energy?

They are working on having just as much solar energy farms as there are wind energy farms. Even though Texas gets an abundant amount of sun it also is a hot spot for wind, specifically on the coast, in West Texas and in the Panhandle, and those three places are wide open spaces that can generate large amounts of wind to produce enough energy (on a large scale).
There aren’t any solar farms, but solar energy on the individual level is a huge industry in Texas and growing due to many incentives.

Texas both produces and consumes more energy than any other state in America.
Over the years, the technology itself has gotten cheaper, and as energy demand rises, relatively cheap ways of getting energy have to grow as well.
