Why does the moon appear the same size as the sun in the sky?

It is all because of the real size of the moon and the sun and their respective distances.  The sun is 400 times bigger than the moon, however it is also 400 times farther away from Earth than the moon is.  This results in the coinciding size similarity of the moon and sun in the sky.
