Why does it take so much energy to transmit electricity along transmission wires?

    Usually, it’s because electricity has to go such long distances in a lot of areas.  Because of this, electricity is transmitted at a much higher voltage (110 kV) to reduce electricity loss, which essentially takes more energy to facilitate.
