Why does it seem colder when the clouds leave after it snows?

Clouds act as insulation that keeps the heat of the Earth’s surface from escaping into the high atmosphere. When the clouds are not there surface temperatures drop because that insulation is no longer present. When this happens just after snow, it feels like the temperatures have dropped even further because it is so cold.
