Why does it rain so much more in Northern California?

    The Pacific Northwest, including Northern California, has more rainy days than other regions because of its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. In other words, the moisture from the Pacific Ocean impacts the weather in areas of Northern CA so that there is more rainfall.
