Why does it rain so much in England?

This is because of its location in the world. At a relatively high latitude, there is more precipitation, and since the gulf stream comes right up the Atlantic ocean and turns towards England, it brings with it warm waters. These mix with the cooler waters and air, combining to form storm fronts which the ocean and winds carry right to Ireland and England, creating the rainy weather they so frequently experience.
