Why does gas hurt so bad when you get it in your eyes?

    Generally, everything hurts when you put it in your eye, especially if it’s a highly flammable potent chemical such as gasoline. Even prolonged exposure to gasoline vapors can irritate the eye. So if your eyes are exposed to gas, make sure to rinse your eyes with water for 20-30 minutes gently. If the burning persists you should call get medical attention.
