Fiber is a type of carbohydrate that does not digest until it reaches the colon, and some types of fiber do not even digest then. It turns out fiber in our diets is not only good for constipation, but diarrhea as well. Fiber helps regulate the transit time our food takes to pass from our mouth to, well, the toilet.
