High Fructose corn syrup should be avoided because ingesting it makes your blood sugar level spike instantly. The spike is followed by a sudden drop, or “sugar crash”, which is bad for your body. Fruits have sucrose, another type of sugar. However, eating them in moderation should not affect your blood sugar level too quickly (unless, of course, you are diabetic).
You should be eating vegetables as they provide lots of essential nutrients (except the really starchy ones like potatoes). I don’t think I’ve ever head of a doctor that tells their patients not to eat vegetables!
