Why does dew collect on most species of plants?

    Dew is formed when heat escaping from the ground condenses moisture in the air more quickly than it can evaporate, causing the formation of little droplets of water. Dew forms more easily on surfaces that are not heated from below the ground, including grass, leaves, car roofs, etc.
