Why does Australia have such a huge invasive species problem, like with rabbits and camels?

The European rabbit is doing a lot of damage in Australia. The main problem is so many of them, along with other species, were introduced to Australia on purpose. There are not as many predators, plus they have high reproductive rates, so they can easily spread. They thrive in Australia, and the mild winters allow them to reproduce year round.
