Aloe works to help sunburns heal because of its antibacterial and soothing qualities. The gel from the plant is hydrating, and contains numerous vitamins and amino acids. It can even be consumed as juice. The National Cancer Institute recommends using aloe because of its cancer fighting properties.
Aloe vera gel is soothing and moisturizing. Putting aloe on sunburned skin helps keep the skin’s natural moisture in because its consistency makes for an organic sealant. It also helps to protect the skin from exposure. Research has shown that aloe can also speed the healing process of burned skin. It also contains anti-inflammatory substances that help calm the area.
Aloe Vera, the gel that is found in the Aloe plant, is good for burns because it contains aloectin B which stimulates the immune system and healing. Aloe helps skin renew itself by stimulating cellular metabolism, promoting oxygen exchange and increasing nutrient absorbtion. Aloe contains the anti-oxidant vitamins A and C; the minerals copper, selenium, and magnesium; and zinc, a powerful virus fighter. Additionally, the gel itself is cooling and moisturizing, comforting burn sites and preventing them from drying and peeling.
Yup, I am quite used to using aloe vera for everything. It’s great for hair, sunburns, lightening skin, soothing and you can also drink it.
