The reason people haven’t supported green cars thus far is because there still remain many inefficiencies to green cars and the payoff is not great enough for people to make a finnancial decision. For instance a Toyota Camry costs 5000 dollars more than the cheapest version while getting between 9 and 14 more miles to the gallon.
Another issues with hybrid cars is the question of the disposal of the batteries. The batteries seem to be an environemntal hazard in themselves.
I agree, cost is an issue. It’s true that green cars save money in the long run, but many people don’t have the ability to pay the extra money at the start.
