The Boedigheim Chapel is a secluded “Nature Pagoda,” deliberately kept out of view. That might explain why we don’t see other retreats very often. As for the fact that it’s made out of all recycled materials, I think more and more civil engineers are designing buildings by principles of environmental conservationism. For example, a new condo complex in New Jersey is being made from nothing but recycled materials and powered by wind energy.
I don’t think anybody would call a condo in Hoboken a “nature pagoda,” but it’s a step in the right direction.
