Why do universities and schools still have physical locations, wouldn’t it be better if all schooling took place online?

Online distance learning is certainly convenient and at times more affordable but there are some things about going to school on campus that online distance learning simply cannot provide. Social interaction is something very valuable to the entire learning process. Most of the time, online classes are just between the student and the instructor. This way, students miss out on opportunities of possibly learning from his or her fellow students just by interacting, discussing things, and engaging in debates. In this aspect, online classes can be quite limited. Also, nothing can quite replace hands-on learning. There are a lot of benefits from being able to learn from your instructor face-to-face. This is true especially for skill-based classes.
