Why do some birds ride on the backs of other animals?

    The brown headed catbird (Molothrus ater: Latin for “black vagabond” awesome) frequently rides on cattle to feed on the insects like mosquitoes that cattle attract. The oxpecker rides on hippopotamuses for the same reason.
