Why do some beaches have higher tides than others?

    I think some beaches have higher tides than others because of their elevation and slope. If the beach has a higher slope, this tide will not rise as high. If it starts out at a higher elevation, the tide will also not rise as high. There could be other reasons, but these seem like pretty logical ones.
