Why do pressure cookers help food cook faster?

Pressure cooker helps cook food faster due to its higher temperatures while cooking.  Most pressure cookers have a working pressure setting of 15psi over the existing atmospheric pressure and at this pressure relative to sea-level atmospheric pressure, water boils at 122 degrees Celsius.  Cooking time with a pressure cooker is generally reduced by 70% over conventional cooking times.
