Portion sizes keep growing because the cost to manufacture food keeps decreasing. Then the paradox comes to food providers to try and make more money when it costs less to feed someone, so they market bigger sizes. We love to get things at a good value and the foods that grow portion sizes the largest are fast food and junk food so we’re able to get more and more for less. It’s kind of a vicious cycle and one that’s pretty out of control.
