Some people like to shave or even brush their teeth in the shower. Others just take long showers because it feels good!
Or who knows, maybe they’re just really dirty!
Water pricing and awareness of water scarcity issues would also help determine the amount of time a person took to shower. If water is expensive to use, or water rationing is in effect due to drought conditions, a person might take a shorter shower to save money or to conserve water. The way a person showers might also influence the time it takes, such as taking a “military” style shower, where one turns on the water to get wet, shuts if off while soaping up, then quickly turns it on again to rinse off then shuts it off again.
