Clothing moths are a very specific type of moth that will eat almost any animal-based fabric. They are flesh colored insects that avoid light and are therefore rarely identified on clothes. Strangely, it is not the moths that eat the cloth, but the larvae that is laid on the clothing. They are attracted to perspiration odors — laundered clothing has less chance of having damage.
