Why do lions tend to go rogue, kill cattle, and eventually kill people?

There are a number of theories on this. What makes the most sense today is that we are negatively changing their habitat and thus reducing their prey. Less food supply can mean weaker lions, and this makes them more likely to go after easy cattle, and maybe even a human. Another theory is that lions can go through generations that develop a “taste” for a certain animal. In the case of humans, times when diseases such as smallpox were rampant that meant a lot of corpses passing through that the lions would eat.
