Truckers leave their vehicles idling all night for many reasons, but one of the major reasons is the fact that, in the cold, engines quickly become cold and fuel runs the risk of freezing. There are also mechanical problems that could affect the engine if it gets too cold. In years past, the trucks have also idled because truckers were plugging in devices such as heaters, while they slept.
As of today, there are have been a variety of laws passed in order to stop this problem, including laws that require reduced or ceased idling. Because of this, some of truckers’ electronic products can now be powered without engine power.
