Its due to a mixture of genetics and the environment you are in, your genotype, phenotype, and environment. These things make up your external characteristics. Your brother does not have any of these three things identical to you and therefore will not look exactly like you. Even identical twins are different due to slight environmental changes.
You most likely have a more active immune system than your brother. Scarring occurs when fibroblasts produce thick tissue in order to close and heal a wound. Your immune system may overreact to minor injuries and your body may produce more fibrous tissue from its fibroblasts than is absolutely necessary. This fibrous material is thicker and less smooth than your skin, which is why scars are often rougher and darker than the surrounding skin.
