When I eat peanut butter or some meats I get heartburn and doctors only give meds they don’t tell me why this is.
Most high-protein foods are also high in fat, which is probably the trigger for your heartburn. Peanut butter has a notoriously high fat content, even though most of it is monosaturated (good fat). Same with most meats. The protein is great for heartburn, and has been shown in some studies to severely reduce heartburn, but be careful what you’re ingesting along with that protein!
