When we breathe in, we take in oxygen, which our body combines with carbon so we can use the oxygen to make energy. During this process, the waste gas carbon dioxide is produced, which the body doesn’t need, and it is released when we breathe out.
We produce carbon dioxide by burning fossil fuels. We also use it in fire extinguishers and as carbonation in soda and beer. Dry ice is the solid form of CO2 and is used in shipping and stage productions.
