Why do bulbs with higher wattage get much hotter?

Watts measure the amount of energy or power that something uses. So the higher wattage a light bub has, the more energy it uses (that is why higher wattage bulbs are brighter). The more energy a bulb uses, the hotter it will get, the same way if you run two different size motors for the same amount of time, the larger one will generate more heat.
