Magneseum Sulfate when used in a bath allows for magnesium to absorbed into the body through the skin, which is more difficult when the Mg is ingested.  As the sulfate is absrobed it draws many toxins out of the muscles and allows them to relax. Mg also aids witht the binding of seratonin which helps the you relax.

Dissolved Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) increases waters specific gravity. This makes the body more buoyant in a bath. The salt also increases the overall ionization of the water reducing wrinkling of the skin. It can also absorb into the skin and reduce inflammation of muscles and joints.
