Why do eastern European countries seem to embrace renewable energy more than any other region?

    Renewable energy in Eastern Europe has been gaining momentum recently because of the European Union’s attempts to become a low-carbon economy.  The EU passed a bill requiring all members to raise amounts of renewable energies, and Eastern European members are making efforts to satisfy their economic obligations to the EU.
