Why do dog whistles hurt their ears so much?

Even though our ears aren’t able to hear frequencies that high, a dog’s ears can.  Whenever the ear can detect sound, parts of the ear oscillate.  The more and more oscillation, the more that something can be damaging.  Imagine your whole body in a booth that can shake really fast; eventually, you will receive damage from the constant shaking as gravity causes organs to hit one another multiple times.
