Why do the diseases that mosquitoes carry have no effect on them?

Many of the diseases, like malaria, need interaction with human blood to take effect. Otherwise, they just hang out until a mosquito goes after a person.

Mosquitos are vectors for many diseases. Some times the disease, like malaria, is in the blood that they have eaten. When they begin feeding on the next person the malaria is quickly transmitted. The malaria is a disease that does not impact mosquitos as it does humans.

Other diseases, like Leishmaniasis, are actually found in bacteria that are living on the mosquito and using it for transportation between people.
