Why do recycling centers pay so much more for aluminum cans than other materials?

It’s probably because aluminum is extremely efficient to recycle into new cans (i.e. relatively little processing has to happen before it can be reused), and recycled cans are a lot cheaper than creating new metal out of raw ore.
