Cats sleep for approximately two-thirds of their life. But the amount of sleep for a cat can be influenced by their owner. Typically cats sleep during the day and are awake at night. This sleeping pattern was to conserve energy for hunting. Since domestic cats don’t generally need to hunt and can be involved in daily activities with their owner they may sleep less than the wild cat.
