Why do buffalo do so well in Yellowstone National Park?

It’s one of America’s largest and most famous national parks, so their habitat isn’t fragmented and they’re much better protected from poaching than they would be outside its grounds.

The bison are actually doing so well that they have surpassed the park’s sustainable carrying capacity of 2000-2200, and wildlife biologists are trying to expand their range beyond the park.
