Why did the Stone Age end?

The Stone Age ended because, quite simply, people stopped using stones as much. With the introduction of metal tools and urban civilization, humans entered a new age.

Another reason for this is the expansion of toolsets and what we call the Neolithic Revolution. In this period tools became more specialized, demanding that the materials used become more malleable than stone. Also this is the dawn of civilization and you get pronounced artwork across areas of human occupancy. Civilization and the sedentary lifestyle led to specialization in labor allowing people to specialize in the manipulation of metals and other substances that are much lighter than stone. Stone was heavy, required a lot of work, and couldn’t be made into fine tools like needles. It eventually fell out of use, though not entirely it is still used for many purposes worldwide.
