Why did the groundhogs bleed when the EPA poisoned them?

    Many rodent poisons contain Warfarin as the active ingredient. It works as an “anticoagulant” by reducing the ability to the blood to clot and cause death by internal bleeding.
    Interestingly, many patients with vascular disease take the same chemical (in small doses) to thin their blood to help it keep flowing through narrowed arteries.
