BPA has been shown to cause reproductive problems in lab rats, according to recent evidence. The concern is especially for babies and young children who accidentally consume larger portions of BPA, due to the use of plastics in baby bottles, sippy cups, and plastic linings on food and formula cans. Canada seems to be taking this evidence to heart, as a high percentage of people have been found to have at least some BPA in their bodies.
BPA can mimic estrogen. As tmtobias said, it has been shown to cause reproductive problems such as infertility, cancer, and malformation.
