Conservation is important for future agricultural production because in order to have agriculture in the future we need to be aware of what we are doing to our resources today. Conservation involves understanding what the impacts of human activity are and trying to reconcile them with natural resources so that human activity do not deplete the environment of natural resources. Conservation does not mean completely stopping usage of land or resources, because that does not necessarily mean that the land and resources would recover if left alone. This is because the impacts of human activity are much more far-reaching than just exploitation on the surface. The deeper impacts will be important factors for if we can have agricultural production in the future.
