Composted soil is so much better for plants than regular soil because it has a lot more nutrients in it. While regular soil does see natural degradation of plants/organisms that do give it nutrients, composted soil is almost like concentrated soil so it contains far more. Composted soil is actually better than fertilizers as well because it secretes the nutrients in it far more slowly than fertilizers so you don’t have to keep reapplying, and the natural nutrients are better than the synthetics.
Composted soil can act as “a soil conditioner, a fertilizer, addition of vital humus or humic acids, and as a natural pesticide for soil.” In general, it is a great growing medium for plants.
