Why can’t we change almost every power supply to a solar cell so it won’t be expensive in terms of electricity bill? and also to make the sunlight useful?

There are quite a few issues with current solar cell technology for energy production.  In order to be concise I will give the simple answer.  Coal, oil and gas are cheap ways to create electricity in comparison to solar cells.  This is due to the relative inefficiency of current solar technologies coupled with high costs of production and installation.  Government subsidies, increased solar cell output and economies of scale are some factors that could make solar technology an economically viable option in the future.  Below is a cost comparison graph provided by greenecon.net.
