why cant light escape a black hole?

Light can’t escape from a black hole because the escape speed once you get into the Schwarzchild Radius is the speed of light.  Therefore, you would have to be traveling at greater than the speed of light to get out.  Since light travels at the speed of light, it can’t get out and thus gets sucked into the black hole.
