BPA is a harmful chemical because among other things, it can interfere with the structures of and increase cancers in reproductive organs, cause insulin-resistant diabetes, and even promote the early onset of puberty in girls. This is because BPA is an endocrine disruptor which alters how our hormones are processed by the body and even causes genetic damage.

BPA is so terrible because it can imitate your bodies own chemicals to cause imbalances in your endocrine system. This system is a series of glands that produce chemicals that regulate metabolism and sexual development. Infants are especially vulnerable to disruptions in this body system.
