Why is Bokashi so good?

Fermentation!!!  Efficient microorganisms speed up the process of typical composting from months to days in bokashi composting.  In stead of using water and oxygen to breakdown the materials in a traditional compost pile, “microorganisms decompose matter through an anaerobic process.”  It is great for apartments and small areas because of the speed of breakdown and if done properly has very little smell.  It is similar to the process used for fermenting wine and there are many over the counter products to help you get started.
