Why is the blueberry called a “false berry”?

A false berry (An epigynous berry) is an accessory fruit found in certain plant species with an inferior ovary, which differentiates it from a true berry. In these species other parts of the flower such as the basal, parts of the sepals, petals, and stamens, can ripen in conjunction with the ovary, forming the false berry.
