Geothermal energy does not rely on weather or climate conditions, making it a reliable source of energy in areas where underground heat sources are close enough to the surface. Geothermal energy is the result of decaying processes that will diminish over time, however. Solar is variable with the weather, but also requires a surface area to receive incoming solar energy. Solar panels and equipment require production and space and are more vulnerable to damage and theft.
