Why is Australia producing so much carbon?

    Australians are producing 1.43 times the global average of carbon, even though they only make up 0.34 of the world’s population.  Other big producers are far more efficient at manufacturing and fuel usage than Australia as well, as it uses 25 to 30 percent more fuel than the US, Japan, and Europe.  There’s a fascinating article on the matter cited.
