The Bohr model of the atom (sometimes referred to as Rutherford-Bohr), has expanded the study of science to introduce us to an atom that has a positively-charged nucleus orbited by negatively-charged electrons. Scientists have since been able to build, test, compare, and revise Bohr’s model bringing additional valuable tools to the study. This model has become essential to science as it explains most of the accepted features of atomic theory without all of the complicated math.
