Why are trout farms bad for the streams in California?

Runoff winds up in the streams of California.
Trout runoff is typically high in zinc, something that is usually present in small quantities but isn’t too common in much greater amounts. Other organisms are not used to such a zinc-rich environment, and it could potentially be a very big problem.
