Why are they called ghost sharks?

Looking at the ghoulish picture in the first link, you can see how these creatures may have come by their name. Ghost sharks (scientific name Callorhinchus milii) have semi-transparent skin leading their appearance to be ghost-like, thus one of their many names. They are also known as elephant fish and white fish.
