Madagascar is an island off the eastern coast of Africa. Animal species who live on the island are isolated from the rest of the world. They develop and evolve specifically to the island. Lemurs are a particular animal that only live in Madagascar. They are unable to migrate off of the island, which is why Madagascar has so many unique species.
